COVID-19 practice updates

COVID-19 practice updates.

We do not perform the nasal swab test to look for current/active COVID infection.  If you are concerned that you have a coronavirus infection at this time, please go to an urgent care facility or the emergency department.

In-office Blood Draws available!

Your health care doesn’t have to wait.  All patients are welcome to call the office to get their care plan back on track.

In-office appointments available as well as Virtual Visits.

Whichever visit type you prefer!

What’s a Virtual Visit?
You can have a doctor’s appointment from home using a smartphone, tablet or computer.  It’s like using Skype or FaceTime, but it’s secure enough to share medical information.  We are using a Zoom platform that is incorporated with our new medical records system.

Will insurance cover a Virtual Visit?
Most insurances are covering virtual visits and other forms of telemedicine during the pandemic.  As always, It’s recommended that patients verify their benefits by calling their insurance and asking about coverage.

How does a Virtual Visit work?

  • A few minutes before your virtual visit, click on the link provided in your appointment confirmation.  The site will walk you through checking your microphone and camera.  So easy!

For new patients, there’s one additional step:

  • Please complete your new patient paperwork prior to your appointment.  You will be sent an email with a link to complete the forms.  Allow 20-30 minutes to complete your paperwork.

When should I schedule a Visit versus a Brief Phone Call?

If you have more than one question, we should have a Virtual Visit. A Brief Phone Call is 5-10 minutes and can only address a quick clarification from something we’ve already discussed or a quick dosage adjustment for something you’re already taking. If you’re unsure of when you’re due for labs or if it’s a good idea to get testing sooner or later, a Brief Phone Call is perfect.
